RawBox is a luxury subscription box that caters to an audience passionate about superior, high-quality natural and organic ingredients loaded with health benefits and free of the bad stuff. The products are vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, wheat free, and soy-free. RawBox ships bi-monthly, and sells gift boxes in the one-time shop.
How does your business make money?
We make money by selling subscription boxes on our website. I source the products for the products from vendors I find online or meet at natural food expos. I buy or get the products donated from the vendors in exchange for marketing, i.e. posting their products on social media channels and getting their products into the hands of their target customers and influencers.
Why should someone buy this business?
I launched RawBox in August 2015 and was profitable within 6 months of launch. I started the business with monthly shipments and changed to quarterly boxes in 2017. After a customer survey, I found the "sweet spot" to be bi-monthly shipments and switched in January 2018. YOY Growth from 2016 to 2017 saw a 25% decrease in revenue as a result of switching from Monthly to Quarterly (only shipping 4 times per year) but a 34% increase in active paid subscribers.
The potential for RawBox is highly untapped because this hasn't been a full-time job for me. Due to health issues I, unfortunately, don't have the time or effort to meet the growth potential that I see.
How can the future owner improve this business?
There are many things that I haven't had time to do, but if I had to pick one, it would be to expand and utilize existing media coverage (Buzzfeed, Brit + Co, POPSUGAR).
